Here are a few images of our booth at the Architectural Digest show in March. It was great to observe the reactions of (mostly) New Yorkers who took the time to look at and touch the furniture pieces. We had three types of pieces - a vanity, a furniture storage piece and a kitchen island.
We definitely noticed a warm and positive reaction as the connection between furniture and cooktop or furniture and sink were experienced. There were smiles, nodding of heads in understanding and agreement with our philosophy and an interest in a simple elegance as sort of a freedom from "too much". "Functional furniture" seemed to be the words we heard often.
The stunning sink is the Kohler Katagami BRONZE vessel. Many people were drawn to the sink and just had to touch it, moving hands around the surface. The faucet was the Kohler Margaux faucet in a truly gorgeous brushed bronze. The cooktop at the kitchen island is by Electrolux and it is induction - one of the very best ways to cook...it is energy efficient, safe, powerful, has instant response and more.Posted By: / 0 Comments
What a day! The debut day at the Architectural Digest show in New York City began with Emily of Emily Gilbert Photography taking photos of all the pieces in our booth, #368. We are in a superb location, in a corner space. Shortly after Emily finished shooting the booth, our first media appointment was with THE Samantha Emmerling of House Beautiful!
On and on the day went, with media appointments, friends dropping by and with a fabulous, impromptu tweetup, complete with squeals of joy at seeing one another in real life and endless chatter with constant laughter.
I MUST say, just like in one's home, the gathering took place around the table I had in the booth..it served as "the kitchen table" or "the kitchen island"!
I wish to give a heartfelt thanks to all of our family, friends, and colleagues who support us so enthusiastically. It adds a dimension to the experience of this launch that is difficult to express...it's a layer of support that we are extremely grateful for. Thank you.
So, let's go to pictures! Look at this tweetup...how fun was this!? In the tweetup image, Twitter names: @quintessenceblg @thedailybasics @stylesson @nestnestnest @thedecoratingdiva

Welcome to Bornholm Kitchen! Bornholm Kitchen is a new brand, born from a deep connection to our ancestral home, a little island off the coast of Denmark. I have been to Bornholm and will visit again this coming August. Along with my daughter, Kelly Serra Donovan, we look forward to sharing lots of information, ideas and creative products with our readers. This is a meaningful endeavor for our entire family, and we hope to enlighten and delight you as we talk about how Bornholm Kitchen can be interpreted seamlessly into YOUR lifestyle.
